Filters - Multi Grade, Dual Media And Pressure Sand Filter

Wipro Water provides multi grade filters – MGF, of varied capacities. An MGF is used in water and wastewater treatment to remove suspended solids, dust and dirt present in the water. The MGF is a depth filter that makes use of coarse and fine media to create pore dimensions that retain large and small suspended particles. These filters work at high velocities and have high dirt holding capacity. These MGFs are used for pre-treatment in ion exchangers (deionizer and softener) and membrane filtration systems.

Dual Media Filter

Wipro Water provides dual media filters - DMF for the removal of suspended solids and turbidity in water and wastewater. The filter uses layers of sand and anthracite or activated carbon as the media in a single container. DMFs are ideal to filter water with very fine suspended matter like mud, dust particles and biological growth at a high rate of flow. A DMF performs better than the single filtration process.

Pressure Sand Filter

Wipro Water provides pressure sand filter – PSF. These filters have multiple layers of sand of varied size and specific gravity. The PSF is designed to remove turbidity and suspended particles present in the feed water with minimum pressure drop. PSFs operate at lower velocities compared to MGFs.

Activated Carbon Filter (ACF)

Wipro Water offers a wide range of activated carbon filters - ACF, for varied applications to meet specific process requirements. The activated carbon filter (ACF) works on the principle of adsorption. The medium adsorbs or reacts with pollutant molecules as the water is filtered through. ACFs are designed to remove free chlorine, organic matter, odour and colour present in raw water and wastewater. The filter consists of various grades of carbon granules supported by gravel, pebble and sand. Grades of carbon are used according to the type of treatment required. The activated carbon has the optimum iodine value for effective removal of contaminants. Our ACFs are used as second stage filtration post MGF/PSF in effluent, sewage, water treatment plants, ETP, STP, WTP.

Softener Filters (SF)

Wipro Water custom builds ion exchange softeners for several industry groups. This includes food and beverage manufacturers, automobile manufacturer paint and washing units, hotels and restaurants, air conditioning plants, textile manufacturers, commercial laundry management. Hard water is considered un-fit for both industrial and domestic use.

Calcium (Ca2+) and Magnesium (Mg2+) are two of the salts/minerals that are responsible for hardness in water. The ions of these minerals/salts cause scaling of pipes and equipment, change the taste of water and are a primary problem to the laundry process. Ion exchange softeners we build are use in boiler feed water decalcification plants, cooling towers and sewage treatment plant (STP) treated water recycling. Water softeners containing resin beads (ion exchangers), designed to exchange Ca2+ and Mg2+ ions with sodium ions.
